Postsecondary Education for Students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities: A Critical Review of the State of Knowledge and a Taxonomy to Guide Future Research

This research brief addresses inconsistencies and lack of clarity that limit the development of a knowledge base on the impacts of postsecondary education programs on participating individuals with IDD.  It develops an organizational framework for understanding the characteristics of programs and students and the relationship of these characteristics to outcomes.  The framework is designed to be of use in future evaluations to help improve programs, person-program fit, and program-institutional fit.
